Irreguarly rambling about web development and technology

Horror of Horrors … I lost my bookmarks!

… and my saved passwords and all my cookies and all my extensions!  You have to expect this kind of thing when you’re trying out the beta versions of Firefox I suppose :)  Some of those bookmarks were ones I had all the way back from whilst I was at uni.

But you know its funny - after the initial horror and feeling of OMGICANTSTANDTHIS, it started to feel sort of good to be cleansed … a bit like a choloronic irrigation (I’m told!)

But what really annoys with me with the current Firefox 3 Beta 3 is the bloody DNS lookups.  For whatever reason, it seems to stop being able to resolve all domain names after a certain amount of browsing and just sits there waiting for the lookup, only for it to fail.  Everything else can still find the addresses, only Firefox has problems.

Oh well - its beta.  Roll on Beta 4!

Update: Ok… it would seem that Beta 3 has managed to fix its look up issues when it cleared out all of my user settings.  Now it would seem that this was perhaps an issue with an extension.

I cant actually remember what extensions I had installed though, so its hard to find out what it might have been.  However, what I can tell you is that AdBlock Pro, NoScript, DownThemAll and BugMeNot are not responsible as I’ve added those back and everything is fine.
